STABLE INTEREST PORTFOLIO EXPANDS - 21 December 2009

StableInterest joins the major firms: GE Energy Financial Services, CMEA Capital, Khosla Ventures and Energy Capital Management to invest a combined $13.2 million in Danotek Motion Technologies.
Danotek makes the so-called permanent magnet generators (PMGs) for wind turbines. The company says they contain no "wear-and-tear parts." making them more reliable and less costly to maintain.
The specialists from StableInterest agree with Danotek officials, who claim the investment will allow it to expand research and development, install utility-scale megawatt  load-testing equipment, hire and train workers and launch production of a projected 4,000 permanent magnet generators (PMG�s) annually.
Danotek says PMG technology is also more efficient, capable of operating at slower and variable speeds. As a result wind farms would be able to harvest an average of 15% more energy, providing approximately $1 million in additional revenue over the life of the turbine, Danotek said.
As said by Mark Robinson, the Manager of Clean Energy Investment Department: "This is considered to be an innovative technology that would give a greater   upswing to the economic benefit from using the wind energy. We are happy to join this venture that would bring  advanced generators to the global market"

The alternative energy sector will consolidate and in 2009. Clean tech enjoyed a banner 2008, and the global revenues for solar photovoltaics, wind power and biofuels expanded by more than 50 per cent to US$115.9-billion in 2008, according to a new report from Clean Edge.
At the same time more than $70 billion in stimulus money should begin to boost the industry by the end of the year.
Clean Edge is predicted to experience strong expansion in the span of a decade. As for global biofuels production  it will rise up from $34.8 billion in 2008 to $105.4 billion by 2018.
Wind power is projected to expand from a $51.4-billion industry in 2008 to $139.1 billion in 2018.

However despite the peak of solar and wind power generation, the demand is not necessarily going to grow. The thing is that in the energy storage sector some techs are currently competing and the winner is not evident as said by the reporters.
Another essential thing is to get the wind power from the Great Plains to more populated areas with the help of new transmission systems, as well as bringing the solar power to regions that cannot generate wind power themselves is of a great importance as well.
Clean tech and renewable companies should benefit from emerging global markets.
Eastern European countries that have been looking to reduce their dependence on natural gas from Russia are embarking on several wind and hydro projects.
The Clean Edge company reports, micropower grids, which pull energy from microturbines, cogeneration, solar cells, fuel cells, geothermal and wind turbines, account for just six per cent of the electricity in the United States. But they provide from one-sixth to more than half in a dozen other countries.
